The SAGECare designation ensures our Members the highest level of care and support in a community where diversity and inclusivity are the norm.

SAGECare is a nationally recognized training and credentialing program developed by SAGE (Services & Advocacy for LGBTQ+ Elders). The program encourages cultural competency and sensitivity in senior care services, particularly for LGBTQ+ individuals.

Receiving the SAGECare designation is a testament to our dedication to creating an inclusive and affirming environment for all our Members. For those of you considering The Cedars, the SAGECare designation signifies that our staff has undergone comprehensive education and training to ensure a safe, supportive community for all who live here.

The LGBTQ+ Elder Hotline gives older adults a place to call for peer counseling, local resources and support no matter where they live. It’s free, 24/7, confidential and managed by United Way Worldwide. Volunteers offer advice on anxiety, bullying, relationship concerns, workplace issues, HIV/AIDS, safe sex and more in English, Spanish and translations in 180 languages.
